Argentina: Freedom for Öcalan, solidarity with Leyla Güven

The activists demanded freedom for the Kurdish People’s Leader Öcalan and expressed solidarity with the HDP deputy Leyla Güven, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike against the isolation of Öcalan for 100 days.

The mothers of Plaza de Mayo, who have been demonstrating for decades in Buenos Aires for their missing children and grandchildren, have protested against the abduction of Abdullah Öcalan to Turkey twenty years ago.

Today's demonstration of the mothers of the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires was marked by a protest against the international conspiracy that led to the arrest of PKK founder Abdullah Öcalan on 15 February 1999.

The activists demanded freedom for the Kurdish People’s Leader Öcalan and expressed solidarity with the HDP deputy Leyla Güven, who has been on an indefinite hunger strike against the isolation of Öcalan for 100 days.

During today’s demonstration, Plaza de Mayo mothers, feminists and human rights activists carried signs and banners reading "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan" and "Solidarity with Leyla Güven".
