Appeal to visit Leyla Guven in the ward

Leyla Guven’s lawyers have submitted an appeal to visit their client in her ward as she is unable to leave the ward for their visits due to her health.

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Leyla Guven’s hunger strike demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan is on its 71st day.

Guven’s lawyers haven’t been able to visit her since January 10 due to her health issues. They have submitted an appeal to the Diyarbakir Type E Closed Prison Prosecutor’s Office to visit Leyla Guven in her ward instead of the visitation area.

“HER CONDITION IS NOT GOOD”

Lawyer Cemile Turhalli Basak said: “This morning her stomach cramps, intense headache and fatigue were worse. There is a great reduction in her fluid intake. Her blood pressure was 8.5/5.5. Blood pressure is measured twice a day. We also appealed to the prison prosecutor’s office so we as her lawyers can hold our visits in the ward due to her condition not being good enough to come to the visitation area.”
