Ambulance called for Gulistan Ike on hunger strike in Strasbourg

An ambulance was called when Gulistan Ike, one of the 14 hunger strikers in Strasbourg, worsened.

Journalist Gulistan Ike, one of the 14 activists in Strasbourg on a hunger strike demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan, has worsened on day 54 of the protest. An ambulance was called for journalist Ike and she will be hospitalized.

Dr. Fahrettin Gulsen monitors the hunger strikers closely and said Ike’s situation is serious.

Dr. Gulsen said Ike has inflammation in her cranial blood vessels and irregularities in pulse and blood pressure, which have combined to create a serious complication in the rhythm of her heart.
