Actions and demo for Öcalan across Europe

Several actions and protests are taking place around Europe to remark the 20th anniversary of the international conspiracy against Abdullah Öcalan.

Actions condeming the international conspiracy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan took place in Gävle and Goteborg in Sweden and in Rennes, France.

Gävle

Kurds and their friends gathered in front of the Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Gävle to protest against the conspiracy and the isolation of Öcalan.

Leaflets explaining the purpose of their action were handed over and slogans chanted.

In his speech in Radhus square, Muazzez Batte, co-chairman of the Gävle Democratic Kurdish Community Center, talked about the process of conspiracy and the role of international forces.

He stressed that the conspiracy was dwarfed by the resistance of Öcalan and the Kurdish people, and that the Kurdish people had made great gains in all four parts of Kurdistan. Batte demanded that Kurdish People's Leader Öcalan be released immediately.

Cazya Alma, speaking on behalf of the Women's Commune, drew attention to the attacks of the Turkish state on Rojava and South Kurdistan aimed at destroying the gains of the Kurdish people.

She called on all Kurds and their friends to take a stand against the attacks and massacres of the Turkish state.

Goteborg

Following the call by Ciwanên Azad and Jinên Ciwanên Azad, Kurdish youth gathered in Götaplatsen Square and performed a torch-show for the freedom of Kurdish People's Leader Öcalan.

Young people who shouted slogans condemning the Turkish state, came to Brunn Park.

The conspiracy and isolation were condemned in speeches on behalf of Ciwanên Azad and Jinên Ciwanên Azad in the park.

The demo ended with calls to the Swedish government, the European Union and the revolutionary-democratic public to end the silence on the isolation and to oppose the Turkish state's attacks and massacres.

Rennes

In Rennes, France, hundreds of people gathered to protest against the conspiracy and isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader. Starting from Place du Colombier and walking to République Square, the people chanted slogans like ”Bijî Serok Apo”, ‘Long Live President Apo’.

Thousands of leaflets were handed out along the way.
