Action to support hunger strikers in Freiburg

Demonstrations in solidarity with Kurdish hunger strikers continue across Europe.

An action was promoted in the German city of Freiburg to protest the isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, and to draw attention to the hunger strikes led by DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven who is on the 94th day of fast.

Some 300 people, including members of the Freiburg DKTM, Nuda Women's Council, the Freiburg Alevi Cultural Dergahi and Saladin-i Eyyubi mosque, joined the action at the Alte Synagogue Square.

Photos of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and YPG and YPJ flags were carried by activists.

Speakers at the march said that the hunger strike led by Leyla Güven has been joined by hundreds of Kurdish activists in Turkish and Kurdish prisons as well as in Europe.
