70 years old man Abdulkadir Ekinci, who lives in the Bağlar district of Amed (Diyarbakır), had his flat raided by the police this morning.

The raid at 5 am in the morning was followed by a detailed search in Ekinci’s house, after which he was detained and taken to the police directorate.

Ekinci’s son Metin Ekinci said that police claimed to have found Azadiya Welat and Özgür Gündem newspapers during the search in the house although there were not any newspapers, both of which were shut down with a statutory decree long ago.
