Kirkuk Security Forces detained 30 ISIS suspects in an operation they conducted last night at 02.00 after imposing a curfew on 20 neighbourhoods in the town.

Kirkuk Security Official Xebat Omer stated that ISIS 'sleeping cells' were targeted in this operation and nine of the initially detained 39 suspects have been released shortly after.

The operation was conducted as a precaution against possible ISIS attacks during the coming Eid al-Fitr this weekend.

Not many days ago a bomb-laden vehicle of ISIS was destroyed before it could reach its target Kirkuk.
