One civilian dies, 5 others wounded in Cizre under curfew

Following the declaration of a curfew on Yafes and Sur neighborhoods Saturday evening, police and special operation teams attacked the people in areas outside of the curfew area. While clashes erupted upon the response of the people, armed attacks by police forces left 5 civilians wounded, including one seriously who has been referred to Şırnak.

Electricity has been cut off in Yafes and Sur neighborhoods which further witness an intense activity of herons.

Police teams are opening gunfire towards Yafes neighborhood from armored vehicles deployed on the orbital road.

As people are taking to the streets to protest the already ongoing attacks, residents of Cudi neighborhood staged a march to condemn the repeated curfew.

In Cudi neighborhood, a civilian aged 65 died due to the police blockade after suffering a heart attack at home and not enabled access to hospital for urgent treatment. According to reports, no ambulance was allowed into the neighborhood amid an entire police blockade on the road leading to the area.

While the name of the civilian is yet unclear, the body reportedly remains in the neighborhood.

People continue resisting the attacks in neighborhoods.

In Şırnak's Cizre district where three previous curfews have been imposed in recent months, 21 people were killed by Turkish 'security forces' during a nine-day curfew and aggression in the month of September.
