KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency stated that peoples of Turkey, the Middle East and the entire world should be assured that the perpetrators of the massacre in Kobanê that claimed the lives of Kurdish men and women would be brought to account.

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency stated that fascist ISIS gangs tried to revenge their defeat against YPG/YPJ by brutally massacring civilians during the holy month of Ramadan in Kobanê. KCK assured peoples of Turkey, the Middle East and the entire world that the perpetuators of the massacre would be brought to account.

In its written statement, KCK said that 50-60 gang members infiltrated into Kobanê from two different routes and massacred tens of unarmed civilians. KCK emphasized that fascist ISIS gangs tried to revenge their recent losses against YPG/YPJ by brutally massacring civilians during the holy month of Ramadan, and said that the perpetuators of the massacre would be brought to account. KCK offered condolences to the people who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery to everyone who got injured during the attacks. KCK added that such massacres would not prevent the liberation of Kurdistan and the democratization of the Middle East, and Kurdish people who insist on a free life would democratize and liberate other parts of the region.

‘TURKISH STATE AND AKP GOVERNMENT ARE RESPONSIBLE’

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency emphasized that all states and political powers, primarily the Turkish state and AKP government, that support ISIS are responsible for the attacks. KCK said that those who claim that ‘PYD is more dangerous than ISIS’ and equate people’s defense forces YPG/YPJ with fascist ISIS gangs are the ones who encourage and organize the attacks. KCK pointed out that the massacre illustrates the Turkish state’s character and hostility towards Rojava revolution, and said that one of the two routes through which the gangs attacked was the Turkish border. KCK emphasized that ISIS gangs in Akçakale currently have close relations with Turkish police and military, and the whole world is aware of these relations despite the Turkish state’s official statements to the contrary. Reminding that Turkey could never acknowledge its cooperation with ISIS, KCK said that AKP government would continue its problematic relation in order to attack Rojava Revolution. Reminding how the Turkish state cooperates with anti-Kurdish forces in the war it wages in Northern Kurdistan, KCK said that such cooperative relations would continue until the Kurdish issues is resolved. KCK asked everyone to disregard the Turkish state’s claims that they have no relations with the gangs who attacked Kobanê because they aim to manipulate public opinion.

‘TURKISH STATE CANNOT BE ABSOLVED OF ITS PARTNERSHIP IN THE MASSACRE’

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency highlighted that the Turkish state has strong and close relations with ISIS and Turkey has been a safe haven for the gangs, which make Turkey responsible for the attacks on Kobanê. Criticizing the claims of not having any relations despite the ISIS presence and activities within Turkey, KCK called on AKP government and Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan to end their relations with ISIS and hostility towards Rojava Revolution.

‘OUR PEOPLE WILL BE DEMANDING ACCOUNTABILITY FROM THE PERPETUATORS’

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency stated that Kurds from all four parts of Kurdistan would never forget the Turkish state’s complicity in the attack and the AKP government’s anti-Kurdish policies and discourses. KCK said that Kurdish people would be demanding accountability from the AKP government and other perpetuators.

‘EVERYONE SHOULD REACT TO THE MASSACRE IN DEMOCRATIC WAYS’

KCK warned Kurdish and other peoples in Turkey to not believe in the statements of Tayyip Erdoğan, AKP spokespeople and media outlets that deny the state’s role in the attacks, and called on everyone to react to the massacre and protest the AKP government’s complicity in democratic ways.

‘THIS MASSACRE WILL BE ACCOUNTED FOR’

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency stated that peoples of Turkey, the Middle East and the entire world should be assured that the perpetuators of the massacre in Kobanê that claimed the lives of Kurdish men and women would be brought to account. KCK added that such massacres would not prevent the liberation of Kurdistan and the democratization of the Middle East, and Kurdish people who insist on a free life would democratize and liberate other parts of the region.
