KCK on Qamishlo massacre: Measures of self-defense must be advanced

KCK called upon the peoples living in all the liberated cities of Rojava and Northern Syria to go into action to defend themselves with the spirit of mobilization and solidarity.

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement on yesterday's bomb attack in Qamishlo, describing it as yet another savage massacre perpetrated in Rojava that is targeted by continuous threats of the fascist AKP state.

Recalling that the at least 35 people lost their lives and over 150 others were injured, KCK offered condolences to the Kurdish people and their friends, and wished a speedy recovery to all the wounded.

Noting that ISIS has claimed responsibility for this brutal massacre, KCK said this was not the first savagery committed by the ISIS gangs in Rojava, recalling the barbaric massacre perpetrated by the gangs in Kobanê on 26 June 2015, in which 300 civilians were brutally massacred. KCK recalled that the gangs that partook in the Kobanê massacre had crossed into Kobanê from Turkish land, once again proving the fascist AKP state's support to the ISIS.

KCK remarked that fascist Erdoğan dictatorship played a leading role in Qamishlo massacre as well, saying; "It is quite natural that this dictator, who labelled Rojava terrorist and pointed it as a target to the whole world, wants to practice his desperate anti-Kurdish policy with massacres. This fascist dictator has been trying to destroy the freedom hopes of the Kurdish people and choke the Rojava Revolution since the very first day, and resorting to every kind of dirty methods to achieve this goal. The Turkish state has the blood of Kurds everywhere in addition to Bakur (North) and Rojava (West) Kurdistan."

'A WAR BETWEEN THE AKP STATE AND KURDS TOOK PLACE IN ROJAVA'

KCK stressed that the fascist AKP government, which made preparations to initiate the "collapse plan" in Bakur Kurdistan during the process of unilateral ceasefire declared by Kurdish Freedom Movement, has also intensified the war in Rojava by taking advantage of the non-conflict atmosphere in Bakur.

KCK pointed out that the AKP government relied on Al-Nusra during the initial period of war and later put ISIS into action alongside some traitor Kurdish collaborators as it deepened the dirty war and carried it to the point of massacres in an effort to eliminate the political status gained by Kurds which it considered as the greatest danger and threat to itself.

"In this respect, the war in Rojava has actually been one between the fascist AKP state and the Kurds", KCK said.

Citing Turkish officials' recent remarks that Turkish special operations forces are deployed mainly in Bakur while the rest is stationed in Bashur and Rojava, KCK said; "It is known to some extent why some of these are deployed in Bashur. On the other hand, it is certain that the other units in Rojava are intertwined with ISIS and coordinating the massacres and attacks. ISIS has become AKP and AKP has become ISIS today. AKP's occasional statements against the ISIS are aimed at covering up this relation and cooperation. AKP, the gangs affiliated to AKP and the ISIS are engaged in a new 'Anfal Campaign' against the Kurdish people. Qamishlo massacre is a reporter of this campaign. The Turkish state under Erdoğan's dictatorship is being through the process of becoming a bandit state based on sectarian, nationalist and chauvinist mobs. This development threats not only the Kurdish people but also all the Middle East and world peoples."

‘AKP WANTS TO CREATE A CONFLICT BETWEEN KURDS AND ARABS IN ROJAVA'

KCK underlined that the Qamishlo massacre targeted Kurds with the goal of suppressing the Kurdish people, saying; "More importantly, the fascist AKP state wants to create a Kurdish-Arab conflict in Rojava in the face of the advancement of friendship and solidarity between Kurds and Arabs, establishment of the Syrian Democratic Forces as a most concrete expression in this regard, and initiation of the operation to liberate Manbij together with the defense forces of the Arab people. All these developments have made the AKP state initiate such a despicable plan."

KCK remarked that the fascist AKP state did not only attack Kurds as it also wanted to take everyone under control by means of ISIS gangs, citing the ISIS massacres in Europe as a most striking example of this truth.

"It is clear the Rojava stands on the forefront of the battle with the AKP and its illicit child ISIS that threaten the humanity. International powers must see this historic role of the fighting sides, support the Syrian Democratic Forces with the awareness that any weakness to be experienced in this war will be a disaster for the peoples, and fulfill their responsibilities in order for the Manbij operation to come to a conclusion in the soonest time possible. Obstructing the massacres of ISIS can be made possible by weakening and disabling ISIS everywhere."

KCK emphasized that the Kurdish people must quickly advance the measures of self-defense against probable massacres, and called upon the peoples living in all the liberated cities of Rojava and Northern Syria to go into action to defend themselves with the spirit of mobilization and solidarity.

“It must be known that the war will get heavier. Everyone should therefore make the living in conflict environment a manner of life and manifest their best to lessen the price to be paid for freedom. Our pain is huge but it is time to not sit down and cry but to transform our pain into a power to crush the enemy.”

KCK ended the statement by vowing to avenge the martyrs of the massacre and enhance their struggle everywhere in solidarity with the Rojava revolution.
