Detentions amidst attacks in Silvan

The police blockade and repression has intensified in the wake of the curfew imposed in Silvan district of Amed.

The police blockade and repression has intensified in the wake of the curfew imposed in Silvan district of Amed.

Police forces have raided many houses across the district as well as the garden of the district municipality early this morning. Özgür Gün TV worker Murat Demir and DIHA reporter Serhat Yüce were detained in the operation whose cameras and equipment were also seized.

Police also confiscated the work machines belonging to the Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) in the garden of the municipality.

Entering the neighbourhoods of Tekel, Bağlar and Feridun by armoured vehicles, police raided many houses primarily in Tekel neighbourhood and detained many people including municipality officials.

Meanwhile police continue opening fire in the blockaded neighbourhoods of Tekel, Bağlar and Feridun, while the people also keep on resisting the attacks despite all the repression of the state forces.
