As the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to close in on Raqqa from four sides and deal heavy blows to the gangs, they rescued another 40 civilians in Hisham Bin Abdulmalik neighbourhood.

SDF fighters continued their advance in Raqqa city from the north-eastern neighbourhood of al-Barid while targeting positions held by ISIS gangs and cleansed the Idixar and Basil boulevards in the neighborhood. This progress means that the fighters have managed to liberate already 60 percent of the neighbourhood. 6 ISIS members were killed in the clashes here.

A bomb-laden car was destroyed by the fighters in Hisham Bin Abdulmalik neighbourhood before it could reach its target. The number of gang members killed or injured in the related clashes could not be clarified. SDF fighters rescued some hours ago in the same neighbourhood over 40 civilians of whom most are women and children, and some are injured.

The rescued civilians said that they had seen on the streets many times vehicles belonging to the SDF fighters but they didn't dare to get out then due to the fear of the gangs and their hidden mines. These civilians add to the 200 ones which have been rescued by the SDF fighters in the same neighbourhood the day before.

3 ISIS members were killed in Nazlat Shahade neighbourhood where battles still unfold.

On the other hand, SDF fighters managed complete control over Seyf El-Dewle street which guarantees that at least 50 percent of 'Old Raqqa' neighbourhood has been cleansed completely of the gangs.
