YPG statement about ongoing attacks on Efrîn
YPG Press Office reported that Turkey-backed gangs have increased their attacks on Efrîn and Turkish aerial activity over Kobanê continues.
YPG (People's Defense Units) Press Office released a statement reporting increasingly ongoing attacks and violations of the Turkish army and affiliated gangs on Rojava, and gave the following details from the past one week:
“On May 20, gangs acting under command of the Turkish army attacked Maranez and Girê Qestelê villages in Efrîn's Shera district with mortars. The same day, the gangs attacked Basufane village in Efrîn's Sherawa district, and the Turkish army attacked Koran village east of Kobanê at night. YPG fighters responded to the Turkish soldiers but no information could be obtained about the casualties they suffered.
On May 21, gangs affiliated with the Turkish army attacked Basufane village in Efrîn's Sherawa district at between 11.00-12.00 at noon.
On May 22, Turkish jets flew over western Kobanê. The same day Turkish soldiers attacked the Silîp Qiran village east of Kobanê with heavy weaponry. YPG fighters responded to the Turkish soldiers but no information could be obtained about the number of casualties they suffered.
Turkish army affiliated gangs attacked Birîndaran Hill in Efrîn's Cindires district at 00:00, and Maranez village in Efrîn's Shera district at 22:00 with DShK fire, which faced an immediate response by YPG forces. The gangs also attacked al-Qamiyê, Malikiyê and Basûfanê villages in Efrîn's Sherawa district with DShK, tank and mortar fire.
On May 23, Turkish army affiliated gangs attacked Martyr Şilan Hill in Efrîn's Cindires district and Maranez village in Efrîn's Shera district with mortar, DShK and tank fire.
On May 24, Turkish army affiliated gangs attacked Basûfanê village in Efrîn's Sherawa district, Martyr Şilan Hill in Cindires district and Maranez village in Shera district with mortar and DShK fire.
On May 25, Turkish jets and unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the western border of Kobanê east of the Euphrates.
On May 26, Turkish army affiliated gangs attacked Basûfanê village in Efrîn's Sherawa district as well as Maranez and Ayn Daqnê villages in Shera district with mortar and DShK fire.”
