HPG reports revolutionary campaign against the Turkish army

Guerrillas of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) and YJA-Star (Free Women’s Troops) continue targeting and inflicting blows on the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The Press and Communications Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a written statement reporting continued actions against the Turkish army in southern and northern Kurdistan.

The statement by HPG-BIM is as follows;

“Within the scope of the Revolutionary Victory Campaign, on May 20 (today), at 07.30, our forces carried out a revolutionary operation against various military points in the Gürbulak town of Ağrı's Bazid (Dogubeyazit) district. Many enemy soldiers were killed in the actions. The details of this comprehensive operation will be shared with the public later on.

Within the scope of the Martyrs Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, our forces on 18 and 19 May, organized actions against the invading Turkish army. In this context;

On May 18, around 22:00 hours, our forces carried out a sabotage action targeting a military convoy of the occupying Turkish army between Dizê and Talê villages in Hakkari‘s Çelê (Çukurca) district. As a result of the action, a cobra-type armoured vehicle was totally destroyed and 9 enemy soldiers were killed. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army closed the road to traffic.

On May 19, at 06.30, our forces carried out an action against the invading forces stationed on the Koordine hill in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where enemy positions were struck effectively. After the action, the occupying forces bombarded the area with howitzers and mortars.

On the same day, at 18.30, our forces carried out an action against the enemy soldiers deployed on the Lêlîkan hill within the territory of Southern Kurdistan. Three soldiers were killed and three soldiers were wounded in the action where enemy positions were put under intensive fire from three sides. After the action, the occupying forces bombed the area with cobra-type attack helicopters.

On the same day, at 20.30, our forces carried out an action against the enemy soldiers positioned on the Leylek hill in Hakkari's Şemzînan (Semdinli) district. Two enemy soldiers were killed and another one wounded was in the action.

On May 19, at 11.20, our forces carried out an action targeting a security checkpoint between Bitlis's Tatvan and Hizan districts. One enemy soldier was killed and one soldier was wounded in the action. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army bombed the area with howitzers and mortars.

On May 19, at 21:30 hours, our forces carried out sabotage action targeting the oil well in the Bekirxan town of Batman's Kozluk district and this oil well was destroyed.”
