“All who want to protect their values should join the PKK”

Guerrilla Şahin Şaho, a youth who took to the mountains and joined the PKK, stated that the multifaceted life which the PKK produces influenced him join the ranks of the guerrilla forces.

Şahin Şaho is a young Kurdish man of the Yaresan community who embarked on his quest for freedom in 2011 by joining the PKK.

Şaho explained that the multifaceted life of the PKK left a deep impression on him, so he reached the decision to join the freedom struggle. He said, "The colorfulness of this life had a huge effect on me and I see that this itself is the very truth of freedom."

“THE PKK DERIVES ITS BEAUTY FROM ITS DIVERSITY”

Şaho continued with the following words: "The reality of the PKK does not only include the forming of the society, but it is at the same time guiding towards the protection of a political society which is defined by morality. We have here a communal life which gets carried on. I as a Yarasan youth was overwhelmed with joy after I saw that the culture, morality and colorfulness which I grew up in is being protected within the guerrilla. It makes me extremely happy."

Describing diversity as the expression of freedom, Şaho said: "My opinion is that it is the diversity within this movement which provides its unique beauty. It is a source of optimism and morale. Here are many diverse cultural identities present, as Êzidîs, Yarasans, Alevis and Muslims. We have a life here which truely represents democratic autonomy. It fills one with overwhelming feelings. We are obliged for this reason to further this struggle for freedom and to take on the burden of the legacy which was handed down to us."

CALL TO THE YOUTHS

Guerrilla Şaho made the following call to the youths: "I call on all Kurdish youths and Yarasan youths in particular. You all should stand up for this legacy and carry on this struggle. You should join the ranks of the PKK to take part in a free life and to protect your culture and all the values of your life. The path of freedom is made possible through the beauty of life which our leader Apo has brought up."
