Attacks in Xerabê Bava carried out by an AKP team

The siege in Xerabê Bava (Koruköy) village in Mardin's Nusaybin district, ongoing for 12 days and a complete substitute to the practices of 90s, is executed under the leadership of Bornova 2nd Gendarmerie Commando Brigade.

Bornova 2nd Gendarmerie Commando Brigade has replaced the Bolu and Kayseri commando brigades deployed in North Kurdistan in 1990s to burn villages, torture people at village squares, execute and disappear the Kurdish population.

BORNOVA NOW

The Xerabê Bava operation is led by İsmail Balıbek who got promoted to Brigadier General with an official instruction of the Interior Ministry after the coup attempt of July 15, and was assigned as the Commander of the Bornova 2nd Gendarmerie Commando Brigade.

It has been found out that the operation in Xerabê Bava is joined by soldiers from the Bornova 2nd Gendarmerie Commando Brigade, soldiers from Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command and special operations police previously employed in Cizre, Gever and Sur. The operation is commanded by Brigadier General İsmail Balıbek and Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command Colonel Ahmet Zafer İşcan.

VILLAGE GUARDS: ALL OF THEM ARE WEARING MASKS

Village guards from the operation zone, who spoke to ANF on condition of anonymity, stated that they had been included in the previous operations of the Turkish army in the region, but they were not summoned for this operation.

Accordingly, soldiers instructed the village guards to "stand guard in your own villages", and told that special operations have been brought to the area for this operation.

Village guards stated that the operation in Xerabê Bava is conducted by special operations police and soldiers brought from Bornova, noting that all those in the operational forces are wearing masks. Village guards said the soldiers from Mardin Gendarmerie Command are just providing security in the surrounding areas.

CLOSE RELATIONS WITH MINISTER SOYLU

Brigadier General İsmail Balıbek had been put on the record as the officer who locked up helicopters in the barrack of the Gendarmerie Commando Special Asayish Command at the night of the coup attempt.

Balıbek reportedly transported a petrol tanker to the helicopter pad at the Army Aviation Command in Güvercinlik, and exploded the tanker, rendering the pad out of use. He was therewith promoted to brigadier general and assigned to Bornova 2nd Gendarmerie Commando Brigade.

The other commander in Xerabê Bava, Colonel Ahmet Zafer İşcan, was assigned by Interior Ministry to the Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command in place of the former commander Alaaddin Karsavuran who had been imprisoned for links with the Fethullah Gülen organisation. İşcan is reported to have close relations with Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu.
