HDP Election Coordination calls for mobilisation as voting begins abroad

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Overseas Election Coordination has called on the electorates living abroad to get mobilised for the snap elections to be held in Turkey on November 1, for which voting has begun in Europe today.

The coordination informed in a written statement that electorates living abroad can cast their votes between October 8 and 25. The voting will start in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Denmark and North Cyprus today, while the Higher Election Committee has specified different dates for the start of voting in other countries.

The statement reported that many activities have been organised by the party so far in the scope of the election campaign abroad, such as panels, public meetings, solidarity evenings, house and workplace visits and opening stands in the countries and cities where the party is organised.

According to the statement, the party has met the people and made intense propaganda to receive support during all these activities which will continue until October 25. The Committee further vowed to reach all every electorate who can support and vote for the HDP.

The statement said the election coordination and the commission in every city are also organising transportation for voters during the voting days, and called on the party’s electorates to act in coordination with these commissions and to contribute to the organisations.

'COMMISSIONS WILL SERVE 24 HOURS A DAY'

The statement said the party has also got organised and provided training to ensure a sufficient number of observers in the places where voting will take place, as part of which one person authorised by the Higher Election Board will be present in each voting area to raise an objection in the name of the HDP in the event of an infraction of rules.The Coordination said the commissions in each city will be providing service for electorates for 24 hours a day.

'PEOPLE'S RESISTANCE WILL GAIN VICTORY OVER THE PALACE'

The statement of the HDP’s Overseas Coordination went on stressing that the people’s resistance could gain victory against the war of the Palace only through a determined and committed work. The Coordination called on the HDP electorates to consider themselves as responsible for providing new votes for the party and called for strong participation in the works of the commissions.

“We salute once again the brave resistance of the people in Bismil, Silvan, Nusaybin, Cizre, Sur, Gever, Varto and other settlements against the dictatorship of the Palace by refusing its repression and cruelty at the risk of their lives for a dignified life. We believe that the resistance of the people will once again gain victory over the fascism of the Palace”, said the statement.

'LET'S BURY ERDOĞAN'S DICTATORSHIP INTO BALLOT BOXES'

The Election Coordination called on all the electorates living abroad to wage a stronger struggle against AKP and Erdoğan’s dictatorship, unite around the HDP, vote for the HDP and to reclaim their votes.

The Coordination further called upon all those siding with democracy and freedom to brig the AKP and Erdoğan government to account at ballot boxes, while also inviting all those supporting the HDP in abroad to work hard till October 25, get mobilised and to bury once again the AKP and Erdoğan’s dictatorship into the ballot boxes.
