The strategically important Mount Kizwan (Evdilezîz) as well as hundreds of villages and hamlets have been liberated in the operation which was named after YPG's Western Front Commander Rubar Qamishlo who was martyred in the military campaign on 14 May.

YPG / YPJ forces initiated an offensive for Mount Evdilezîz on 14 May. Fierce clashes took place between ISIS gangs and YPG / YPJ forces that advanced to the mountain from two sides.

On 15 May, mop-up activities were started after the liberation of many villages near the Habur River between Til Temir and Hasekê.

On 20 May, YPG announced the liberation of the mountain after Defense Units started making an advance to the summit of the mountain following the cleansing of the Xerra village on the foothills of the mountain. In the wake of heavy clashes, YPG/YPJ forces seized the Radio and Radar hills from ISIS groups.

This was followed by the initiation of mop-up operations near the Habur River and northern foothills of the Mount Kizwan the following day.

On 23 May, Defense Units also launched mop-up activities in the liberated villages between Til Temir and Hasekê, and on Mount Kizwan.

On 26 May, YPG Press Center announced the liberation of the town of Mebruka, one of the major strategical stronghold of the gang groups.

While dozens of gang members were killed in three days of fierce clashes in the region, YPG/YPJ forces took control of the Ebû Şexat and Ebû Cellûd villages 37 km southwest of Serêkaniyê on 23 May, of Hill Eb Shexat and the villages of Shara ve Til Qlea 35 km southwest of Serêkaniyê on 25 May, following which the town of Mebruka was surrounded after all the roads leading to the town were cut off by YPG forces.

On 27 May, YPG announced the liberation of the Mount Kizwan, Alya triangle and the occupied Assyrian villages near Habur River.

Defense Units that started making an advance towards the strategically important Mebrûka town from two sides took the town under their control in the wake of intense and heavy clashes.

The day after, YPG/YPJ forces targeted the ISIS groups deployed in villages on the border line.

On 7 June, YPG Press Center stated that Defense Units continued making advances towards the town of Silûk.

On 11 June, YPG reported that the ISIS groups were inflicted major blows around the town of Silûk as 8 villages and 16 hamlets were cleansed of gang groups and liberated.

On 13 June, YPG announced the liberation of the Silûk town and initiation of a pincer operation against gang groups deployed in and around Girê Spî as dozens of villages and hamlets were cleansed of gang groups.

Fierce clashes took place during the pincer operation which was started after the meeting of the YPG/YPJ forces in the cantons of Cizîrê and Kobanê.

Yesterday afternoon, the border gate between Akçakale and Girê Spî was taken under control. Flags of the YPG started waving in Girê Spî as of yesterday evening after two years of ISIS occupation.

The operation in Girê Spî was also participated by Burkan Al Fırat and Liwa Al-Tahrir forces.
