YPG: 15 villages liberated

YPG Press Office has issued a statement regarding the operations and clashes in Cizîre and Kobanê cantons of Rojava.

YPG reported that the YPG/YPJ forces continue the search and cleaning operations following the heavy blows they inflicted on the gangs in the northern foothills of Mount Kezwan and the riverbanks of Xabur, adding that the villages of Til Tal'a, Hiseniyê, Til Hefyan, Til Nasrî, Til Şamîran, Til Huda, Til Goran, Til Fêda, Til Belo'a, Xerîta, Selîbiyê, Skaka, Hemaniyê, Şeîra and Xebîş have been liberated in the last 24 hours within the scope of those operations.

YPG added that the YPG/YPJ forces also continue to clean the area of the mines laid by the gangs.

YPG further reported that the ISIS gangs attempting to occupy the village of Korik launched an operation yesterday night on the eastern part of Kobanê. The statement added that YPG/YPJ fighters immediately responded the attack and inflicted heavy blows on the gangs in the clashes that lasted until early morning hours, killing 25 gang members as well as seizing the corpses of 18 of those killed in addition to a large amount of ammunition.

The statement said a fighter of YPG has fallen in the clashes while bravely fighting against the gangs and playing an important role in repelling their attacks.

YPG lastly reported that the gang groups carried out mortar fires on YPG/YPJ emplacements in the south of Kobanê.
