KCK's message to Newroz celebration in Qandil

KCK congratulated the Kurdish leader Öcalan, people of Bashur, Bakur, Rojava, and Rojhilat Kurdistan on 2016 Newroz, in addition to those fighting the AKP ruling's atrocity in Sur, Cizre, Silopi, Hezex, Şırnak, Nusaybin and Gever towns of Bakur.

The Co-presidency of the KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) has sent a written message to the Newroz event in Qandil territory of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones.

KCK wished a happy Newroz to the people of South Kurdistan, and emphasised that they should embrace the tradition of struggle and make the year of 2016 a year of success in their favour.

KCK also congratulated the Kurdish leader Öcalan, people of Bashur (South), Bakur (North), Rojava (South) and Rojhilat (East) Kurdistan and all other Kurds around the world on 2016 Newroz, in addition to those fighting the AKP ruling's atrocity in Sur, Cizre, Silopi, Hezex, Şırnak, Nusaybin and Gever towns of Bakur.

Describing Newroz as the festival of folks resisting atrocity, KCK called attention to the ongoing war in Kurdistan territory where -it said- powers involved in this war were trying to shape a new map for the region in full ignorance of the Kurdish and other peoples' role, will, identity and rights.

Pointing to the massacres committed by the AKP government of Turkey, KCK said this government was responsible for the massacres in Zergelê, Pirsus, Ankara, Silopi, Cizre, Sur, Hezex, Gever and Nusaybin, and for the death of hundreds of Kurdistan people in the Aegean and Mediterranean.

KCK stressed that the Kurdish people should act with the spirit of national unity against attempts of occupation, and ground on democratic self-rule based on confederal system.

Referring to the success achieved against ISIS in Kobanê, KCK called upon the people of North and South Kurdistan to resist with the spirit of Kobanê and Rojava resistance.

The Co-presidency of the KCK vowed to step up the struggle in order for democratic autonomy in North Kurdistan to perpetuate and democratization in Turkey to be accomplished.

KCK added that they were also ready to provide support to any project to be grounded on democratic demands of the South Kurdistan people.
