After the liberation of Girê Spî, YPG/YPJ forces found aid packages that had been sent to ISIS by western countries and the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The packages were sent from overseas to Adana and Antep airports through MNG Cargo and Atlas Jet Airlines. The packages were then brought to Girê Spî border gate near Akçakale and handed over to ISIS gangs who were controlling the gate back then. It is not known exactly how much aid has been sent to ISIS through Karkamış and Girê Spî border gates so far, but recent developments uncovered information on the humanitarian and medical aid international organizations send to ISIS through Turkey.

After the liberation of Girê Spî located across Akçakale, YPG/YPJ forces discovered all ISIS food and medical supply storage rooms in the town. Here, YPG/YPJ forces found out that particularly medical supplies were sent to ISIS through MNG Cargo and Atlas Jet Airlines. Two examples of such aid to ISIS are the packages barcoded 15-0013109-01-00017 and 15-0013109-01-00014 that were sent to Antep airport on January 19 and sent to ISIS via Akçakale after having been kept at the Private Warehouse Management facility briefly.

ANF spoke MNG Cargo representatives who stated that these packages were sent from overseas, and their senders and recipients could only be revealed after a prosecution investigation.

YPG/YPJ forces also uncovered food and medical supplies sent by the IRS in ISIS storage rooms. It is not certain how these IRS packages ended up in ISIS warehouses, and many people wonder whether ISIS seized the aid IRC had send to opposition groups in Syria.
