23 police and soldiers killed in Şemdinli and Derik

HPG reported that 23 police and soldiers were killed as a result of guerrilla actions in Hakkari's Şemdinli district and Mardin's Derik district.

HPG released a written statement detailing the most recent actions by guerrillas and attacks and activities of the Turkish military.

HAKKARİ

Accordingly, guerrillas targeted a military convoy heading from Mamreş outpost to Rubarok outpost at the border of Hakkari's Şemdinli district at 14:20 on July 28. One military vehicle transporting 15 soldiers was hit and destroyed in the sabotage action.

Guerrillas also hit the Mamreş outpost from two sides. The outpost building was hit with many rockets and many soldiers inside were killed.

Citing the Turkish media reports of 2 soldiers dead, HPG said these reports were fabricated and aimed to hide the truths.

The action was dedicated to the guerrillas martyred on Martyr Gaffur hill recently.

MARDİN

One other sabotage action by guerrillas targeted an armored vehicle near Kozberi village in Mardin's Derik district at July 25 noon, which left 8 special operations police (PÖH) dead.

SİİRT

At 23:00 on July 28, guerrillas hit and destroyed a Turkcell base station and internet line in Kıvax village of Siirt.

HPG continued, providing information about the ongoing attacks, operations and activities of the Turkish military.

HAKKARİ

Turkish troops at Oremar outpost in Hakkari's Yüksekova district bombed Martyr Rahime area with howitzer and mortar fire between 13:00 – 17:00 on July 28.

GUERRILLA ZONES

Turkish UAVs conducted reconnaissance flights over Avashin region of Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan territory from 15:10 to 21:00 yesterday and this morning.

BİTLİS

Turkish army launched an operation in Martyr Mizgin area of Bitlis on July 28. A short clash erupted last night between guerrillas and soldiers who laid ambush in the operation area. The results of the combat couldn't be clarified.

ŞIRNAK

Turkish army launched another operation in Deriyê Berroja and Deriyê Meydana hamlets in Besta region of Şırnak at 06:00 on July 27. The operation continues.
