Eutelsat satellite operator has instructed the suspension of Europe based pro-Kurdish Med Nuçe TV's broadcast.

Med Nuçe TV Broadcasting Board released a written statement saying that “Eutelsat has ordered the suspension of Med Nuçe TV's broadcast by acting in coordination with the AKP government that endeavours to silence the pro-Alevi, pro-Kurdish and children's channels in Turkey.”

Remarking that the Turkish state's suppression and pressure campaign against opponent press and Kurdish media has reached a new dimension, the statement said: “Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared a war on all press and media outlets that remain outside of its preferences, and it tries to export these fascist pressures to Europe as well.

While the broadcasts of 10 TV channels have been suspended within the scope of Turkish state's activities to silence Kurdish press and opponent media under the dictatorship of Tayyip Erdoğan, the Europe based Eutelsat satellite operator has started to apply pressure on satellite companies for the closure of Kurdish TV channels. In a totally unlawful manner, Eutelsat has instructed the immediate closure of Med Nuçe TV which possesses a license and broadcasts within the scope of broadcasting principles. With this unlawful and illegal attempt, Eutelsat has become an accomplice to the Turkish state and Tayyip Erdoğan.”
